The next Citizen's Police Academy will be held TBD.
The Carrboro Police Department held it's first Citizen Police Academy on Saturday, October 24th, 2015. This academy was designed and implemented by officers of the Carrboro Police Department's Patrol Division, Community Services Division and Criminal Investigations Division. The Citizen's Police Academy covered a variety of topics including: the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, the operations of each division of the Police Department, a vehicle and tools demonstration, several scenario training exercises and a K-9 demonstration.
The goal of the Citizen Police Academy is to provide a chance for you to get an up close and personal look at the Carrboro Police Department. Learning how police officers conduct their jobs on a daily basis will help foster greater understanding, cooperation and communication in our diverse community.
